Hackney Empire Concerts Success!

On Wednesday 12th July we welcomed over 1,250 children, teachers and parents to the Hackney Empire for our final concerts of the year!

Our musicians played a concert of music by Brahms and Mendelssohn to a very captive audience, intensely listening to the live full symphony orchestra on stage.

David Chernaik, conductor and CEO of Apollo Music Projects, introduced the pieces and the Apollo musicians performed brilliantly to the hugely inspiring audience! We were also thrilled to be joined by the Speaker of Hackney who tweeted a very supportive message including the hashtag #musicwithoutbarriers. Thank you to everyone who joined us, including the Friends of Apollo Music Projects and our Trustees, for a fantastic musical day!"We were absolutely delighted to attend the concert. It was excellent, the children were enthralled from start to finish, both by the music and the beautiful venue. The vast majority of them hadn't been to a theatre before, which made the experience all the more fantastic. The children and I have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions with you and the other musicians this year. I look forward to working with you again next year." Year 4 teacher, Stamford Hill Primary School"The children really enjoyed the concert at Hackney Empire -thank you for giving them such a great opportunity.  The orchestra were spot on; sign of a good conductor and rehearsal process." Music teacher, Orchard Primary School
