Treasurer vacancy

Apollo Music Projects is looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. This is a wonderful opportunity to join the board of a dynamic and successful organisation.

“Apollo is a national treasure” – Sir Simon Rattle

Apollo Music Projects is a music education charity that transforms the lives of disadvantaged children in deprived areas through the magic of live classical music. We offer children an experience that enhances and enriches their education, giving them access to something they would not experience otherwise. Since 2004, over 14,000 children from primary and special schools in deprived parts of London have benefited from our programmes.

We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees.

The role requires an understanding of charitable financial practice and accounting and of financial management at an organisational level. Prior experience working for an Arts organisation is desirable. A full role description can be seen here.

The Trustees are responsible for the governance of the charity, and this is something that is of the greatest importance to Apollo Music Projects. The charity has a strong executive team of a CEO/Founder and three part-time staff, who are delegated by the board to run the charity’s operations and supported by the trustees.

The Board of Trustees takes on the ultimate legal and financial responsibility for all the activities of the organisation. They maintain an overview of policy and strategic direction rather than being involved in day-to-day operations.

Apollo Music Projects is committed to building a board which is reflective of the communities it serves. Therefore, applications are particularly welcome from candidates from minority ethnic backgrounds.

If you are interested in getting involved or would like to find out more about becoming a Trustee, we would love to hear from you – please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
